I am Giuseppe “Beppe” Soda, Full Professor of Organization Theory and Network Analysis at Bocconi University’s Department of Management and Technology and at SDA Bocconi School of Management.

My research focuses on the origins and dynamics of social, intra-organizational, and inter-organizational networks, and on the performance consequences of the interplay between formal organizational architectures and organizational networks. My work has been published in leading academic journals, including Administrative Science Quarterly, Management Science, Organization Science, Academy of Management Journal, Strategic Management Journal, Academy of Management Annals, Journal of Management, Strategic Organization, Organization Studies, Research Policy, Strategy Science, and Industrial and Corporate Change. My research is also developed in books, including Formal and Informal Networks in Organizations (Oxford University Press, 2026).

My research also informs my teaching in Master, MBA, Executive MBA, and PhD courses on Organization Theory and Design and Social Network Analysis.

My institutional service includes several academic leadership responsibilities. In particular, I served as Dean of SDA Bocconi School of Management from 2016 to 2022. Previously, I was Director of Bocconi’s Department of Management and Technology from 2013 to 2016 and Associate Dean for Research at SDA Bocconi from 2007 to 2013.

I am also active in international management education and accreditation. I currently serve as Associate Director of the EQUIS Accreditation
